Happy New Years....!

After spending my year of 2012 in 7 different countries this year, friends and I decided to spend our last day going right back into our Canadian roots. I first skyped Ashley and gawked at the fact she was waking up on the first day of 2013 in sunny +40 C weather in Australia!! While I was preparing for a cold night of -20 C in a heap of snow, on the last day of 2012 in Canada. It was like a time travel experience and I loved every minute of it, especially hearing her Aussie voice and meeting (some) of her huge family :). Emma and Amy came over to go hiking in the woods and my mom made hot chocolate on the stove. Amy brought with her two LOVELY super kind New Zealand girls who are here with a work visa for 8(?) months. It was so weird to hear Ashley's aussie accent for an hour and then open my front door to more voices just like hers. We decked out in warm clothing and took my husky Diesel up to the top of a snowy hill to watch fireworks erupt from Thomson Park. Nick and Carter joined us and we hiked the long way back home to enter another bush behind my house this time with hot chocolate and chocolate pretzels and roastable things. We hiked to an island where my dad greeted us with a fire inside a tipi. So Indian. While Diesel sat by. haha. My dad's nose was dripping blood due to a log that flung up and hit him in the face as he was chopping wood. (These pictures are of his face when he woke up two days later accompanied with a cold! Prayer please!) But the rest of new years was spectacular and made me want to go on another adventure, hearing about those 2 girls who have been traveling across Canada.

On top of the hill, before the fireworks
