Cannot apologize enough for not posting on here.
I spent the last 2 weeks in Morioka and Ofunato of North Eastern Japan. We were working with a missions group called 3.11 Iwate Church Network. They focus on bringing joy and loving the victims and locals of the cities affected by the tsunami in March 2011. They also happen to be my favourite missionaries ever. We were so blessed by them in Ofunato where they patiently showed us around the city, had devotion every morning, and cooked for us repeatedly. We got to attend church on Sunday and meet the 3 church members. Yes, 3. I was reminded how incredibly blessed I am to come from a nation that is so widely impacted by Christ, that we have churches with thousands of members. Thousands! That's incredible! But these 3 faithful members meet every week and are the most pleasant, faithful, and persistent (to keep the church going) people. I only got the smallest glimpse of how hard it would be to work in a place where the gospel is rejected and there is very evident spiritual heaviness residing, due to the fact that other gods are constantly being served there.
But this tiny church and the 5 missionaries we met with in Ofunato bring the brightest light. Really.
Now we are in Tokyo and I currently do not have a place to stay (that is definite) for 7 days, and would love prayer for ministry opportunities and also someone to stay with! (Me and about 5 others are searching on Couch Surfing)
The second thing I would love prayer for is to find a cheap flight home to Canada! I've almost run out of money and still really need to book a flight home. So please pray that I find a cheaper flight!!!
We fly home to Herrnhut, Germany on Feb.13th. Hopefully then I will have the time to write and add some photos.
Outreach has been unbelievably and unexpectedly difficult hence the lack of words but I am so grateful for your prayers and messages, really!
SO MUCH LOVE! :}

Intensely inadequate and inaccurate portrayal of the beautiful beyond beautiful coast Stephen took us to! |
