Unification Day

Somehow a month has passed since YWAM has started.
I wake up, I try to stay awake and warm for the day, I eat too much, I go to bed late wondering how the day is already over, I wake up again, I repeat. It's interesting,  and it's difficult to force myself through self-discipline to get the fullest of my days.  And that's only done by spending quality time with my best friend, Jesus. The enemy has a way of putting so much noise in my surroundings that prevents me from hearing the very gentle and quiet call to get away and fellowship with my God. Today is Unification day in Germany, celebrating the unity of West and East Germany. Nothing is open and it is beautifully warm and sunny. I can hear so much clearer today as I walked all over with no headphones. I met a polite old man walking up 'slow life hill' (actually called slow-death hill because of the slow incline but I hate to call anything death and actually like the climb) He was tall and had white hair and a long black coat. Before approaching the forest I saw Hannah struggling with her bike so I stopped to help. We both couldn't figure it out, so the man stopped to help and forced the handle bars into place. His accent was just like Grandpa Grunewald's. I awkwardly tried to go past him up the hill but he started talking to me, which I was totally okay with and surprised by because most of the Germans don't like to talk. He asked where I was from and told me about his son in L.A. and asked what church I went to. I said it was a non-denominational church and he couldn't figure it out. "But what is it? Charasmatic..?" he asked. I felt stupid because I couldn't give him an appropriate answer and realized I had no idea what charismatic meant, nor how to explain the character of my church. He left to his home and I promised myself to do more research on the church I belong to.
